Ministries
Godz-Time
This is our Sunday evening ministry to
our young people. We meet every Sunday evening, Sept through May, and
have special events during the summer. We blend Biblical life lessons
with a whole lot of fun! We have activities for youth ages 4 through
high-school. This is a very popular ministry with our young people.
Hang-Time
This is our Sunday evening youth meal
ministry. Each Sunday before God-Time we meet together and eat a meal
prepared by someone in our congregation. The menu is always very “kid
friendly” as pizza, tacos, and chicken wings are often the order of the
day! Both our youth and their parents strongly support this fun and
“filling” ministry. And it tastes good too!
JR Worship!
This is our Sunday morning program for
kids ages 3-7. While the folks are upstairs, the kids come down and have
a fun Bible lesson, make a cool craft, and have a refreshing snack.
Often times, there is a time of worship in song as well. This is a
ministry that indeed helps train our young people in the ways of the
Lord, while giving mom and dad a chance to worship themselves.
Ladies-Aid
This is our women's benevolent
ministry. Ladies Aid has been working in our church for generations, and
is still going strong. They often assist those in need with food, cards,
prayer, and encouragement. They meet once a month for a fun time of
games and refreshment. This ministry is open to all ladies.
Christian Couples Fellowship
This ministry has been in place for
four years, and indeed is popular with all of our “thirty-somethings”
with small children. We meet once every other month for an evening of
food and fellowship. Sitters are provided for the little ones, and mom
and dad can enjoy a relaxing evening in the company of other couples.
We have a time of real life relevant Bible study and usually have a time
of contemporary worship. This is where our popular “Oldy-Wed”Game can be
found!
Calling Night
Twice a month we go out and visit both
new people in the community, as well as current members. This is a relaxed casual time of
getting to know each other better, and is open to anyone who would like
to participate. Many a seed for Christ has been planted during this
effective time of ministry.
Upward!
This is our contemporary praise team.
By use of acoustic guitar and taking advantage of the many talented
singers in our congregation, Upward leads us in worship from time to
time and indeed offers something for those who love “the new stuff” when
it comes to music and worship
Battle of Buford!
This is our men’s basketball league. We
partner with other churches in the area for a fun and spirited time of
hoops. Our season runs from January through April. No matter what skill
level you are, there is a team for you!
The LivingStones
This ministry is a newly formed Bible
School class that is exclusively for those ages16-22. The lessons are
geared for the specific needs of those in this exciting but yet
difficult time. We take the solid truths found in scripture and find
ways to apply them to the many needs of the young people in today's
changing culture. It is a time of earnest prayer, and open, heart-felt
discussion.
Family Bread!
This is our “Get to know each other”
ministry. On Family Bread day, families who wish to participate are
paired up in groups of two or three families, and share a meal together.
This time of fellowship allows families to begin to really connect with
one another outside of church. The response has been great!
